Visting family in Mississippi
We made it to Jackson, MS on Friday, 5/20 to visit Guy's Aunt Ann and cousin, Dick and his wife, Ann. We couldn't believe how high the Mississippi River had risen. On Saturday we went to the Vicksburg National Military Park and the U.S.S. Cairo Museum in Vicksburg, MS. On Sunday we took a drive down part of the Natchez Trace Parkway in MS. We took a walk at the Cypress Swamp where we saw 6 alligators & 2 turtles. Today (Monday) we drove to Hammond, LA (1 hour from New Orleans) and are staying in an RV park here. Dick & Ann joined us in their truck camper. We went to the French Quarters & Bourbon Street in New Orleans in the late afternoon & had dinner there. We plan to head back to New Orleans tomorrow and leave for Florida on Wednesday.
